M35 size 68/61 Luftwaffe Anzio Camo
SOLD
This M35 is SE68 marked indicating the helmet was made by Sachsishe Emaillerwerke, Lauter. The lot number puts the production of this shell in the fall of 1935 between September and December. Research on the lot number verifies this helmet was likely a Luftwaffe helmet.
The helmet has been restored to looks as if it might have seen service on the Italian front, notably Anzio. The helmet was stripped of all post-war paint then repainted the correct shape of smooth LW blue-gray. A LW 1st decal and national colors decal were then applied. The helmet was then over-painted with a moderately thick coat of mustard colored zimerite. The national colors decal was painted over but can still be seen though the paint. The helmet was then over-sprayed with tones of dark green and brown for contrast. A 6-twist farm wire basket was then fit to the helmet. The helmet has been aged to appear battle worn. The wire has taken on a nice plumb patina while the paint shows considerable wear.
The helmet has been fit with a correct reproduction aluminum unreinforced liner. The liner is a size 61. The split pins and slotted washers are the pre-war brass versions. The chinstrap is dated 1939, and would have likely been a replacement.
This helmet is a real head turner, and perfect for Italian front enthusiast

This helmet is not one of my restorations. This helmet is an 100% original M40. The helmet was sourced locally from the estate of a elderly woman. I don't have any evidence that the helmet was a vet bring back, but it may have been. The helmet is Q64 mark with a lot number that puts production of this helmet in 1941. The liner is maker marked and dated B&C Berlin 1941. The split pins and slotted washers are nice and tight and show no evidence of having been tampered with. The leather shows some typical wear and tear. The helmet's finish is worn there are typical scratches and stacking scars. There is probably about 75% of the original factory applied rough textured field gray paint present. The Heer decal has been scrapped off. Its hard to tell when this was done. It may have been done in 1943 when decals were ordered removed, or it may have been re-Nazified in the post war era. Still this helmet has a lot of character and is the perfect helmet for the collector on a budget.

This Italian M33 helmet has been restored to look like it might have been worn by a member of the elite 5th Bersaglieri regiment. The helmet shell is an original Italian WWII produced shell. The shell was totally stripped of all post-war paint then repainted the correct shade of pre-war grigio-verde. The helmet was then stenciled with the regimental insignia of the 5th Bersagleri. This regiment participated in the invasion of Albania and Greece as saw a great deal of action North Africa. The 5th fought valiantly during the battle of the Kasserine pass and are credited with pushing the Americans, Free French and British out of the pass. The fact that Italians defeated Americans so disturbed the Roosevelt administration that it was censored. The credit was instead given to the Germans. Roosevelt considered it unacceptable for American to be defeated in the field by Italians.
The helmet has been fit with an original liner pre-war/early war liner. Both bails of the liner bear the House of Savoy Royal property stamp. The leather may be post war, but the pattern is the same as the WWII versions. The side of the leather is marked size 58. The draw strip is leather which is what the Italians usually used. The liner has been fit into the shell with the correct reproduction pre-war early war grommets. The grommets are smaller then the war time version and have prongs on the back which are peened into place. The chinstrap is the correct spike buckle patterns, dyed grigio-verde. The tip is dated 1939 and bears the Savoy property mark. The Bersaglieri plume holder, and plume sleeve are post-war but of the same pattern that was used during the war. The plume is an actual original WWII Bersaglieri cockerel plume. The feathers are in excellent condition and show little wear and no damage.
This could be a great Italian reenctors helmet or for someone interested in the Italian aspect of WWII.
M42 Heer size 64/56 "Spring camo"

This M42 is marked EF64, indicating the shell was made by Emaillier Fulda. The lot number of this shell puts production in late 1942 probably September or October.
The helmet was stripped of all post-war paint, then repainted the correct shape of rough textured field gray. Helmet was then camoed, over sprayed with shades of tan, grass green and brick red. This pattern would be a spring/summer camo. A camo pattern like this could have seen service in most of the campaigns of 1944 including Normandy. The Heer eagle was over sprayed with camo, but is still visable though the paint. The helmet has been aged to appear battle worn. The aged wear pattern was matched to an original vet bring back from Normandy. The helmet comes fit with an original Suberthwerke made liner. The leather is new but aged to match the helmet. The chinstrap is new and is also aged to match.. The tip is dated 1942.
This is a neat looking camo scheme for anyone interested in the spring summer battle of 1944.
