Dear Jacob, My Italian M.33 Alpini arrived yesterday and
all I can say is: "WOW!" It was well worth the wait! You
converted my post-war M.33 with shoddy paint job and
canvas chinstrap into something I could easily imagine a
brave Italian Alpini wearing on the Russian steppe
during World War 2! The paint job and Alpini insignia
you applied are amazing! The wear to the liner and
chinstrap are top notch! I never would have imagined
that the stiff reproduction gregioverde chinstrap I sent
you would turn out as well as it did! Your attention to
detail on the steel pot met my high expectations... the
small chips in the paint, scuffs and scratches give the
helmet a salty look. The little touches you added... for
example, the bit of white wash around the vent holes,
and DEBRIS INSIDE THE VENTS! really adds a degree of
realism to the helmet. My grandfather's name you hand
applied to the interior of the helmet is a great
finishing touch. I love how it wasn't done perfectly; I
can imagine my grandfather hastily painting his name
inside the helmet at a supply depot before rushing off
to the front. Overall I am extremely pleased with my
experience with Alexander and Sons Restorations. Jacob,
you are a great person. You kept in constant contact and
forged a trusting relationship that really made me
comfortable with sending you my helmet for restoration.
I will highly recommend your services to all my friends
who are thinking about getting their helmets restored
(you can expect a few more M.33s and a M1916 German
helmet to come your way). I also look forward to doing
further business with you in the future (101st Airborne
506PIR D-Day Winters M1, and French M26 Adrian
Infantry). This is at no fault to yourself, but my one
regret with the restoration of my M.33 Alpini is that I
did not request heavier battle wear. If I could do the
restoration all over again, I'd go for a "barely
survived combat" look. For the 1000th time, THANK YOU!

-Jacob. I got the helmet yesturday, and was almost
scared to open the box to se it. Would I be let down?,
would it be completely wrong? No. This is a master
peice. An awesome reproduction, from the similated
combat wear, to the heavy age in the paint, and decal,
to the original liner and leather. This is so much
better than anything I expected, and well worth the
wait. And also thanks for all of the other info such as
factory werkes, and dating. This M42 Wehrmacht stalhelm

January I attempted to purchase a similar helmet from one of your
competitors (Censored)
and ended up paying $300 and sending in my shell to be repainted.
Now that nearly a year has passed, I have heard nothing except
excuses from them as to why they haven’t finished the job. The
reason why I bring this to your attention
is because you have proven to me that when you want a high quality,
professional restoration, there is no better place and you never

-Received the
Police Helmet on Friday, it is superb....still can't really believe my
luck with acquirring that one after so long, it truely is a unique
helmet and very finely done. It's a great WW2 russian front example
especially with the combat detailing and aging. FANTASTIC ! Saturday was
made even better with the arrival of the Mediterrean front Messina camo,
which really did turn out beautifully, superb zimmerit and camo and done
up quite well age wise. It's subtle but quite striking with the yellow
green camo, perfect for the
Italian campaign
1943-44. I am very pleased with both helmets and all your hard work and
effort, incredible and a pleasure to add them to my collection, they
bring to life the history of the period in a way thats hard to capture
in this hobby. Highly impressive work, hope you enjoy doing them as much

my M40 Waffen SS ET/66 SD Helmet that you made for me. I am so glad that I
came across your website. When I saw examples of your work I knew the
search for an original M40/ET/66 shell replica of a Waffen SS Combat Helmet
was over! I just could not believe my eyes when I opened the box and saw
it for the first time! I was overcome with emotion. You are truly a
Master Helmet Craftsman and Artisan and your work is the finest that I have
ever seen! The paint and special combat detailing/wear (copied from your
original Waffen SS Helmet) really sets this helmet off, and it fits me
perfectly! Thank you so much for adding my German name and 1LAH in white
period German script to the inside rear edge! The helmet has that been
there look that I wanted, and looks like it was involved in all of the 1st
Leibenstandarte Campaigns from Holland, Dunkirk, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, to
the Ost Front, and the final breakout from the Fuhrer
Bunker! The additional of the rare museum quality repro NS Style Champagne
Rune Decal found today only on originals, was a unexpected surprise which
combined with combat distress wear really makes this helmet stand out in my
